We were so on top of everything for Silas, but time managed to get away from us for getting Saylor’s one year pictures scheduled. We were so blessed that our friend, Kelsey, agreed to take pictures for us again. She has been through more than one person should have to endure in a year, and she graciously made time to squeeze us in. As usual, we loved them, and we are so grateful for Kelsey’s God given talent! So, without further ado, I have picked my top ten favorite pictures to share with you below. Saylor was not the most cooperative with smiling, but we(o.k. mostly daddy) managed to get a few out of her! Mammaw made Saylor’s watermelon outfit and her hat which were what she wore for her birthday party. The tricycle is from Troy’s childhood, and the rocking chair was Troy’s mom’s when she was a little girl. These personal touches make me love the pictures even more. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. They are a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness!

‘Saylor-bration’
Where has the time gone? I simply cannot believe it has been one year since that day we had been longing for after sitting at number one on the waiting list for 100+ days. It seems like yesterday I was having lunch at work when I received the call that would forever change our family in a wonderful way. You can read the details here. One of the beautiful pictures we saw on that day is below.
The past year has been one full of adjustments for all of us, but we wouldn’t change a single thing. We know God brought Saylor into our family at the perfect time, and she was the perfect addition. We are beyond blessed that God chose us to be her parents, and it is evident through his actions(most days) that Silas is in love with her too! We thought today called a for a ‘Saylor-bration’(can’t take credit for that term….the wife of one of Troy’s co-workers came up with it, but I thought it was cute), and we started off with breakfast at a cute little place where you make your own pancakes. Both of our kids love pancakes so it was a hit!
Troy had to return to work so we had to wait until this evening to finish our little celebration. We had dinner at home, and then we went to a local ice cream store at a local outdoor mall for some sweet goodness! Afterwards, the kids played in an area of the mall that is perfect for them to burn off their energy before bedtime.
All in all, it was a day filled with gratitude as we were once again reminded of God’s faithfulness. Saylor, we will forever be grateful for that wonderful day of July 19, 2012 when we first saw your beautiful face. We thank God every day for your life, and we look forward to the ways He will use you for His glory!
He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He. Deuteronomy 32:4
